iPad Mini 3 vs Galaxy Tab S 8.4 Features, Specs, Display, Hardware and Latest News: A Comprehensive Review and Comparison
The tablet market domination is getting affected due to the phone and tablet duo phablet version from the manufacturers. However, to widen the popularity of the tablet from the mighty phablet devices tech giants are constantly contributing in the tab markets where Apple has recently appeared with the iPad Mini 3. Let's have a quick review of this device along with the similar ranged Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4.
The latest iPad mini 3 comes with a 7.9-inch display that is framed by 1536 x 2048 pixels resolution. The display type includes LED backlit IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors. The pixel density is sharp but not the best with 324 pixels per inch. Oleophobic coating is provided for the protection from unwanted scratches. The rival Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 is displayed within 8.4-inch screen that offers 1600 x 2560 pixels resolution. The pixel density is impressive and higher that iPad Mini 3 with 350 pixels per inch. The display type is adorned by traditional Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen.
The camera segment of the Apple iPad Mini 3 is a source of disappointment. Its camera specification stands nowhere near to its price. The rear pack is equipped with 5MP camera sensor while the front camera is very frustrating with 1.2MP sensor. Samsung somehow holds its reputation with 8MP rear facing camera with 2.1MP front facing camera. Therefore, if you want to go for a budget tablet that is well capable of shooting great snaps, surely these are not your type.
The hardware specification of the Apple iPad Mini 3 includes the Apple A7 chipset with Dual-Core 1.3GHz Cyclone based processor. The GPU segment is powered by separated graphics emulator named PowerVR G6430, which is a quad-core graphics. The other end, Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 features Exynos Octa based chipset that supports Quad-Core 1.9GHz cortex-A15 and Quad-Core 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 processor. The GPU is provided with Mali-T628 chip.
The memory segment is led by the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 as it comes with 16/32GB internal storage space with 128GB memory expandable facility with microSD card while iPad Mini 3 comes in three variants that contains 16/64/128 GB internal storage facility but lacks the memory card slot. iPad Mini 3 is powered by 1GB of RAM while Galaxy Tab S 8.4 offers 3GB of RAM.
