Prince 3RDEYEGIRL Band Rocks the U.K. Watch Epic Live Performance Here (VIDEO)
3RDEYEGIRL, Prince's rock n' roll band with Donna Grantis, Hannah Ford and Ida Neilsen has been exciting fans with epic and intimate club shows in the U.K. (watch their performance of "Let's Go Crazy" from Feb 22 in Manchester above).
The select shows announced very last minute and very loose in nature playing a wide variety of hits, extended jam sessions and songs off of their upcoming album Plectrum Electrum. The second and third shows actually merged into one impromptu funk-rock marathon that lasted into the early hours, and fans who had waited patiently for the late show were eventually admitted free.
Prince sports a new Afro hairstyle and told his ecstatic fans between songs, "Thank you for supporting real music played by real musicians." Two shows in Manchester are planned and there are rumors of a Glastonbury slot plus summer shows in Hyde Park. He is expected to stay in Britain for the rest of this month and maybe longer, so more dates are expected to show up.
Prince sold out 21 nights at London's O2 Arena in 2007 proving his star power is still alive and strong in Europe. Even in 2014, at the age of 56, Prince still has the energy and hold a crowd and this might be his most hard-rocking band he has put together to date. What did you think of the performance?
