Google Nexus 6 Release Date for USA: Motorola's New Smartphone Coming Soon
Google has worked on some really interesting smartphones in the past, but the majority of models were targeted toward the average price segment. However, the massive corporation's crosshairs will shift for its new Nexus 6 device, as Google proceeds to step into previously unchartered territory. As it is still early days, the actual commercial performance of the Nexus 6, particularly against established handset giants like Apple and Samsung, is unknown, while even projections are unclear.
The well-known technology brand has smartly entered into a partnership with Motorola—a company that is manufacturing some really interesting smartphones these days—to build a faster, smarter and all-round better phone. And it appears that the move has paid off too. Preorders of the Nexus 6 start from tomorrow, October 29, and people are already asking when they can directly purchase it from stores. Many experts believe that the official store release date for the Nexus 6 in the USA will be November 8; but, of course, Google has not made an official announcement about it yet.
Pre-release discussions have centered upon the battery life of the device, as it is being considered one of the phone's most striking features. The Nexus 6 battery life is reportedly more than six hours, while the charge time is a mere duration of 15 minutes. If the speculations are true, people across the world will be clamoring to own the Android 5.0-compatible Nexus 6.
Meanwhile, all of the leading cellular service providers have confirmed that they will be offering the Google Nexus 6 on preorder by the same date. Earlier rumors suggested that Google will not be able to sell enough smartphones at such a high price, but the contract offers from AT&T, Verizon, US Cellular, and T-Mobile will mean that finalizing sales will be easier for retail outlets. The new Nexus 6 is priced at US$649 for the 32GB model, and $699 for those users who want 64GB worth of storage. There are no details yet regarding the price one would have to pay to buy the Nexus 6 on a contract.
In some of the recent press releases, Motorola also confirmed that this smartphone will be available worldwide in over 29 countries in the coming months. Once enough devices are sold, Google will look into the possibility of pushing more devices in other countries during the second quarter of 2015. But, looking at the aggressive preorders for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, no one knows what to expect from Google this time.
