Facts versus Rumors: iPod Touch 6th Generation vs iPod Touch 5th Generation; New iPod Rumored Release Date on 2015
Apple proved yet again their high market value after the launch of their newest iPhone 6 series. The Cupertino-based giant neutralized the battlefield against its rival, Samsung, after the newest flagship smartphones hit record breaking sales output.
Amid the fame and glam of their latest device, Apple fans and tech-geeks have noticed the absence of another Apple gadget that has been in long hiatus since 2012. It is their iPod Touch series. As recalled by iTech Whiz the last iPod Touch 5th generation was released on October 2012. Last June, Apple updated the 5th gen iPod and cut down its price.
On the other hand, Apple loyalists and even tech-buffs are still waiting for the release of the next generation of iPod. The delay is said to be because the tech-company is not prioritizing the production of the next iPod 6th generation. But latest news said that it might be launched next year.
So before the anticipated iPod 6th generation will finally be announced and launched, here is a comparison of the 6th generation rumors versus the existing iPod 5th gen based on Stabley Times and Phone Arena.
Because iPod 5th gen is way older than the upcoming 6th generation iPod, the newer device is expected to be better in all aspects. First, iPod Touch 6th generation is expected to have a better processor. iPod 5th gen is powered by Apple A5 dual-core processor while its new sibling is rumored to have the faster and better A6 dual-core processor.
iPod Touch 6G is also tipped for a bigger screen at 5.5-inch HD Retina with 1280 x 720 resolution at 440 ppi compared to iPod Touch 5G's 4.0-inch IPS LCD screen with 640 x 1136 pixel with 326 ppi. 6th generation will also have a better snapper compared to 5th generation at 8MP and 1.5MP cameras versus 5MP and 1.2MP snappers.
The new and upcoming iPod Touch will also be more playful, in terms of its colors. The device is said to be available in diverse colors like blue, green, orange, Pink, Light grey Dark grey and red. Users can also store more apps and games to the iPod Touch 6th generation that is set to have 64GB and 128GB variants while 5th gen has 32GB to 64GB internal only. RAM will also be doubled in the next iPod Touch that will have 1GB or twice the RAM of 5th gen.
iPod Touch 6th generation will also have the latest iOS 8 and a better battery compared to iPod Touch 5th generation's juice. More recent apps like Apple Pay and better connection settings will also be present in the upcoming 6th gen.
In terms of price, tech-geeks predict that iPod Touch 6th generation will have almost the same price as the iPod Touch 5th generation.
