Sherlock Season 4 Release News and Updates: Christmas 2015 one-off Episode to start filming by January 2015; Plus Holmes brother to be played by Tom Hiddleston?
The highly anticipated return of the greatest detective around, Sherlock, is expected by 2016. Sherlock Season 4 will still be headlined by the dashing Benedict Cumberbatch as the legendary Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as his sidekick, Dr. John Watson.
Before Sherlock Season 4 arrives in the small screen, a Christmas episode will be shown off for December 2015. Production for this is said to start by January 2015. After these, shooting will commence for Sherlock Season 4 in time for the 2016 premiere, and we are hoping that this will push through according to plans as Cumberbatch is a very busy actor these days.
With Sherlock Season 4 casts, Moriarty, Sherlock's arch-nemesis has returned from the dead, or so it seemed. We saw Moriarty committing suicide in Season 2 and just wonder how he came back. Well, this will be further explained in Sherlock Season 4, according to IB Times. He will be played by Andrew Scott.
Una Stubbs, will be playing Mrs. Hudson and was a former assassin. She is the landlady of Holmes and Watson and his wife, Mary Morstan. A Sherlock Season 4 teaser was revealed that one of the lady cast will die, according to LatinPost. In assurance, Amanda Abbington who plays Mary will still be in the upcoming season, as she was revealed to be pregnant last season.
And one of the most in-demand news is the fact that another Holmes brother will be seen in the new season. From the previous seasons, we were introduced to Mycroft Holmes, played by Mark Gatiss, who serves as the show's executive producer, co-creator, and writer as well. Now another Holmes brother is out there and it is rumored that the dashing and handsome Tom Hiddleston will play the part. That is definitely a good choice as both Cumberbatch and Hiddleston shared some scenes in the epic 2011 Steven Spielberg drama, War Horse, and that they have good screen chemistry, and the fact that they are two of the most eligible bachelors on Earth!
In any case, we will soon find out when Sherlock Season 4 returns this 2016.
