Microsoft Smartwatch Versus Apple Watch: Facts Versus Rumors; Microsoft Rumored to Have More Advantage Than Apple
There has been no official release date set yet for the Microsoft Smartwatch, iDigitalTimes reports. It is expected however that it will soon be released just in time for the holiday season. In contrast, the Apple Watch will be released in the early part of 2015.
Both the Microsoft and Apple have yet to announce the exact specifications for their smartwatches. In fact, Microsoft has yet to confirm the existence of the rumored Smartwatch. If Microsoft confirms its watch however, it could probably compete with the Apple iWatch well.
Based on the details available and some rumors, we can make some comparison between the Apple and Microsoft Smartwatch.
Forbes has reported that the Microsoft Smartwatch is a health monitoring wearable device and among its features is an app that can monitor the heart rate of the wearer.
With regards to battery life, reports are being said that the Microsoft Smartwatch has the advantage over the Apple Watch. The Smartwatch from Microsoft is rumored to have a two day battery life based on a Forbes report. The Apple Watch will probably have a battery life of less than a day since it has to be charged nightly.
The Apple Watch will have a basic model that can cost around $350 USD. The Apple Watch Edition which is made with 18-karat gold and has a sapphire crystal cover could cost you by as much as $5,000 USD while the Microsoft Smartwatch will probably have the same price as an Android Smartwatch which is around $200 USD.
The Microsoft Smartwatch is designed to be a fitness band rather than a conventional wrist watch. The housing will be made of Oxynitride Aluminum - this material is translucent and four times durable than glass. It will also give the Microsoft wearable device a sharp appearance.
The Microsoft Smartwatch and Apple Watch will have similar and different features. The apple Watch will run under the iOS and has the Apple Pay feature while Microsoft Smartwatch will run under the Windows OS but it will also be compatible with iOS and Android gadgets.
