'Sex and The City' Jessica Parker in Trouble: Photo Shoot of SJP Collection Jammed Perry Street, Residents Are Upset
'Sex and The City' Jessica Parker in Trouble: Photo Shoot of SJP Collection Jammed Perry Street
Promotion strategies of SJP Collection by Sarah Jessica Parker, at the old apartment of the applauded Carrie Bradshaw character of the "Sex and The City," terribly disturbed the residents at Perry Street, New York City, as fans and interested clients flooded the area.
Said venue for shooting was chosen, maybe because of its popular appeal, having been used as the home of Parker's character. It was reported that it has become a tourist stop, so much so that owners and residents are so annoyed that they put a signage on their stairs that says, "do not go on staircase please".
Sarah Jessica Parker had a lead role in the "Sex and The City," an American Sitcom filmed in New York City and produced by HBO, and from there two feature films were made. The series have won several nominations from award giving bodies. Hence, Perry Street also went with the Sitcom's fame after several years of being part of the film.
The SJP Collection, launched in February and sold by Nordstrom, is a footwear line of stylish shoes labelled after her "Sex and The City" character. Therefore, having a photo shoot in the area will further boost the brand's appeal.
The Sydney Morning Herald reported that the residents in the area are infuriated with the influx of tourists, and this is further aggravated by Jessica Parker's wanton disregard for 'no trespassing' signs just to promote her shoe line. They continued with the photo shoot without permission from Perry Street Association.
Gerald Banu of the Perry Street Association explained that he heard about the shoot, but have failed to secure permission for the owner. The location is still jam-packed with visitors, much to the dismay of the residents. As reported by New York Post, Banu revealed that residents are sick of the "Sex and the City."
However, amidst various comments and negative reactions on the said incident, Parker's representative issued a statement that JSP is still unavailable for comment. Followers are yet to know the side of Sarah Jessica Parker.
