Samsung Note: Now Being Redesigned to Challenge iPhone 6
According to Mercury News, with the release of larger versions of Apple's iPhone, the flagship Galaxy phones of Samsung is no longer the next big thing like what you see on the ads of the company. Yet, there are still lots of phones you can consider like Galaxy Note 4. However, because of the rising demands for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, Samsung Note is not the center of the spotlight. In fact, there are rumors that Samsung Note is now being redesigned to challenge iPhone 6.
The latest Samsung Note was officially launched in United States recently and Samsung has introduced its one of the largest design changes to the series since it began sales in the previous years, ditching plastic and considered metal for its frame.
Based on The Independent, the choice isn't a result of change in the design policy of the company, yet a product of what the company does well through identifying the latest consumer trends and improving it. However, it is still not clear if that is enough to stanch the sliding sales as the holidays are fast approaching.
Before 2013 ends, Samsung sold approximately forty-eight million Galaxy Notes, but it didn't reveal the recent sales figures. Even if the reviews for Samsung Note have been favorable, experts said that its redesigned features might not be enough as Apple Inc. has launched larger screen smartphones with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. According to Lee Sei-chul, Woori Investment & Securities' analyst, it won't be easy as even though Samsung Note is a great product, the response for larger iPhones has been good.
Samsung also estimated that its quarterly profits shrank. The company is scheduled to disclose their earnings to business divisions and experts believe that the profit from the mobile business plunged to about one-third compared next year.
The first Samsung Note, which was released in 2011, is said to be making large screen smartphones famous particularly in Asia, yet the market of phablet became crowded with the rival models. The latest Samsung Note comes with 5.7 inch screen faces competition from the new iPhone 6 and other Chinese handset makers.
As of now, Samsung is under pressure to redesign their upcoming smartphones and tablets.
