Tinder: The Controversial Dating App for Smartphones

Tinder: The Controversial Dating App for Smartphones
You can't buy love using your money, yet this might allow you to purchase a better Tinder date.
The location-based and free mobile dating app lets users to swipe right in hopes of finding a match that will start offering some premium features this November, according to Sean Rad who told Forbes.
Rad did not provide other details. According to Forbes, the new features will be those that are requested by their users and will provide value to their users. Rad hinted that the features might concentrate on opening up the location restrictions, which allow people to have connections while they are travelling to new places. The CEO also mentioned that the premium options will be catered to areas outside of romance including local recommendations for travel, doing business, and trying to make friends.
Based on Time, Rad also cleared that users can still swipe for free of charge. He said that the core offering of the app will always remain free.
Currently, the app does not include subscription fees or adverts that helped improve its popularity. However, the premium feature's introduction is a sign of the Tinder app to monetize. Yet, Rad said that the app should build a particular amount of users before they ask for money. He added that revenue is always on the road map and they need to get their growth and product right first.
Even if there are still no details with the new features like their cost, many people who are using Tinder are quite excited with its release as this may provide them a whole new level of dating experience, which dating websites or other apps can't offer to everyone.
According to International Business Times, Tinder makes more than 15M matches every day and currently, users swipe through about 1.2B Tinder profiles daily. Rad also said that their ultimate goal is to bring in revenue. Barry Diller who is also part of the app hopes for it too and estimated that the app could create $75M next year.
Other than Tinder, there free dating apps that everyone could try and these include MeetMe and OkCupid.
