Samsung platform is having a hectic schedule of rapidly releasing its advanced tech smartphones. Once again, the launching platform will heat up with the Galaxy Mega 2. The latest launch from Samsung will appear in the U.S market with AT&T Carrier Company from October 24. The Utah People Post indicated that The 6.0-inch phablet has already made its presence in the East Asia market and is now heading towards the U.S.
The Galaxy Mega 2 has reduced the screen size by a tiny margin where its processor had 6.3-inched of display. The display resolution for the latest Mega 2 supports 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. The display color quality is not so impressive as the device contains 245 pixels per inch. With similar type of screen size, latest flagship smartphones offer greater pixel density over 350 pixels per inch. However, to reduce the price and manufacturing cost Samsung has packed the device with only 245ppi pixel density.
The Galaxy Mega 2 has decent quality camera sensors where the rear camera is equipped with 8MP sensor and the front camera features 2.1MP sensor. Both the camera is capable of recording 1080p videos at 30fps according to GSMARENA.
In terms of hardware specification the device comes in two variants where SM-G750F model offers Exynos 4415 chipset along with Quad-Core 1.5GHz processor. The GPU sector has moderate type of specification that contains Mali 400 chip. The other variant(SM-G7508) has Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset assisted with Quad-Core 1.2 GHz Cortex A-53 processor. The GPU is provided with Adreno 306 instead of Mali as stated in the CNET. The device is expected to perform smoothly however multitasking may just slow down the performance.
The memory department is bound with 16GB of internal storage. The storage facility is expandable with addition of microSD card up to 64GB. The phone is powered by 1.5GB of RAM. The phone will come with Android 4.4.3 KitKat unfortunately missing the Android 5.0 Lollypop. But the OS might be upgradable for the device. The off contract price for the Galaxy mega 2 will be $480 while two-year contract will take around $150.
