Dying Light, the first person action survival horror video game published and distributed by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, is set to be released on January 27, 2015, according to game developer Techland. It will be available for the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, and PC platforms. At the minimum, Dying Light system requirements include a Windows Windows Vista (SP2) / Windows 7 (SP1) / Windows 8 OS, an Intel Core2 Duo/AMD Athlon 64 X2 @3GHz, Intel Core i5 @2.4GHz processor, about 4GB RAM memory, Direct X 10 and DirectX 10-compliant, 512MB VRAM graphics and DirectX 10-compliant sound, plus, a 20GB hard drive space. The official Dying Light trailer can be now accessed at the game's website. There are also already some Dying Light Youtube video footages of gameplay, walkthroughs, demos and commentaries available on the web.
The zombie apocalypse-themed Dying Light gameplay is set in an open world South American slum-like environment. Here, players can traverse through the place, overrun as it is by a vicious zombie infestation outbreak, and scavenge about for supplies. They can also craft their own weapons to defend themselvesagainst an increasingly infected native population. There are more than 100 weapons that can be used and more when players begin crafting new weapons. The video game has a dynamic day and night cycle. During the day when the zombies are slow, the player has to go out and scavenge for supplies to send back to the safe zones as well as set up traps, save random survivors, and make their way to airdrops. During the night when the infected transform into something much more dangerous, the players can stay on roofs of buildings and avoid contact. If spotted, the player can use distractions and traps against the zombies. The players can customize the four characters in the game in the online 'co-op mode.' There is also a pre-order exclusive game mode known as "Be the Zombie" that will allow the player to play as a zombie and join other players' worlds.
