'The Goldbergs' Season 2 Episode 5: 80’s, 80’s And A Lot More Of The 80’s

'The Goldbergs' Season 2 Episode 5: 80's, 80's And A Lot More Of The 80's
"The Goldbergs" season 2 episode 5 will still feature the dating couple Dana- played by Natalie Alyn Lind, and Adam- by Sean Giambrone; Barry- by Troy Gentile, who's attempting to acquire a fake identification card; Adam, who is auditioning for the "Jesus Christ Superstar" play; and Beverly- by Wendi McLendon, who is smothering goodness.
And we should not forget, there will be loads of 80s-inspired shout-outs.
Goldberg told the Hollywood Reporter, "I cannot do it in each of our episodes, obviously, but it is fun every time we are able to come up with ways and stories to put things together. I would always filter my life's events through a lot of 80s stuff."
Throughout the season, several 80s-inspired things will emerge, like:
- Royal Weddings: As inspired by Charles and Diana's royal wedding, Beverly will do her best just to be able to recreate an extravagant wedding for Murray- by Jeff Garlin, and her. The wedding will be cheap, anyway, because Murray insisted that he'll pay for the expenses himself.
- Barry & Adam "Aren't Gon' Take It": Like Barry and Goldberg in real life, their television alter egos will also put-up a band. Goldberg said, "I just adore that whole 'band' thing, because together with my brother, we've done things as this. I even have kept videos of the both of us singing and rocking Axl Rose.
- "Back To The Future": Goldberg wanted to incorporate it in the previous season where it should have been ruled by a couple of white lies that go out of proportion, eventually. Adam's lie would be involved in "Overboarding" and "Back to the Future".
- John Hughes: While we know that the previous season has already been tackling John Hughes homage, well, get ready for more. This very popular tribute-to-be may become season two's "Goonies" episode. Though this will not happen in the first 12 episodes of the second season yet, one thing is sure: there'll definitely be an "Emilio Estevez's Mighty Ducks" shout-out.
- The "Right Stuff": Goldberg can't confirm or deny yet if the "New Kids on the Block" will be pumpin' at the wedding too; however, they will definitely be on "The Goldbergs" show.
As for this season's episode 5, as posted by the SIMKL, Pops will accidentally start a fire in the apartment in the middle of a Halloween party. What happens next will be aired on Oct. 29, Wednesday.
