'The Winds of Winter' Release Date Latest Book News: Latest Updates
There were times when people used to wait for months before the release of a book just to know what author has to offer next. Today, such frenzy is somewhat missing due to alternative entertainment means, but, authors like George RR Martin seem to defy time and bring us all back to those gold old days when books were everything.
Interestingly, "A Song of Ice and Fire" might be one of the most valuable literature collections of our times, but most people did not know about the series before "A Game of Thrones" was aired on the television. In fact, the television series is the only reason for sales of this book collection going up by around 50%. The show has hooked fans so much to the plot that now they want to know what happens next, and release date of "The Winds of Winter" is the obvious point of curiosity.
According to Headlines & Global News, the book should be ready for an official launch by April next year. Apparently, Martin has already worked on the manuscript and now just wants to keep the important part while editing. As a matter of fact, he has to complete this book by mid 2015 adhering to a contract clause signed with Bantam Books, the publisher for this series in the US. Given that the series has sold over 25 million copies and has been translated in two dozen different languages, the expectations are pretty high.
Notably, "The Winds of Winter" will take off from "A Dance with Dragons" and will also serve as a prequel to "A Dream of Spring" ending the successful run for over two decades.
Meanwhile fans speculate what must be going through the author's mind and how he plans to take this story forward especially after releasing the first few sample chapters. Many believe that Tyrion's death is inevitable after he lost nose in sample chapter. Even George R.R. Martin has commented on the incident stating that there is not much that can be done. However, Tyrion's son Tywin is expected to play a bigger role in the next book.
