Worship Leader Tommy Walker Returns with "Living in the Wonder"

Known for writing such worship staples such as "He Knows My Name," "That's Why We Praise Him," "Only A God Like You," "Mourning Into Dancing," "I Have A Hope" and "We Will Remember," Tommy Walker is one of worship music's most prolific writers and leaders. Now through Lifeway Songs, Walker has released his brand new worship album "Living in the Wonder."
About the album, this is what Walker has to say, "At the heart of "Living In The Wonder" is a desire to inspire a child-like wonder and renewed reverence for God. I believe one of the most beautiful attributes at the root of a worshiper's heart is to enjoy everything we can and cannot fathom about God, and to bask in that comfort."
This album has a wide range of styles and expressions of worship. One of the songs "Someday" was even co-written between Walker and Andrae Crouch. "The song, "Someday," on which I had the honor of co-writing with Andraé Crouch," says Walker, "was born through a writing session where he passingly sang the phrase, "someday it will all be over." It immediately struck a chord with me, and I started thinking about all the burdens and trials in this life we long to be rid of. I remember singing this song for my mom, and she loved it. Little did I know that less than a year later she would pass, and the second verse would become so true and personal for me: "and at last the bitter taste of death forever will give way to tears of joy and life eternal."
Tommy Walker songs have been recorded by such artists as - Israel Houghton, Paul Baloche, Ron Kenolly, Don Moen, Chrystal Lewis and Alvin Slaughter. He has had the privilege of leading worship with such Christian leaders as: Franklin Graham, Rick Warren, Jack Hayford, Bill Hybels, Luis Palau and Greg Laurie. Tommy has held worship concerts and mercy ministry outreaches in more than 20 nations.
Tommy received an honorary doctorate of Divinity from Life Pacific Collage in 2013 and an honorary doctorate in music arts from Shepherd University where he is a professor of Worship Music in the Cornel School of contemporary Music. Tommy and his wife Robin live in the Los Angeles area and have four children, Jake, Levi, Emmie and Eileen. To be found faithful to His God, his family and the local church will always be his greatest achievements!
