'Captain America' 3 Latest Updates, News, Release Date: Going to Release in May 2016 and Is Ironman the new Adversary?
The Marvel Universe is on Civil War! Captain America goes head-on with Ironman in "Captain America 3". Movies reports that Co-director Anthony Russo excitedly said that fans might 'freak out' with the coming revelation in "Captain America 3" movie.
According to Variety, an altercation between two Avengers is the main plot of the movie. Ironman or Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) will not see eye to eye with Steve Rogers a.k.a. Captain America (Chris Evans) over a Superhero Registration Act. Under the said Act, humans with superhuman powers must divulge their secret to the U.S. government. Furthermore, they must agree to 'work' as US law enforcers.
Believing it is against civil freedom Rogers does not agree with the Act, but Starks endorses it. Convinced Rogers will become a troublemaker, incarceration might be the best solution. Fortunately, Rogers was able to go into hiding. Meanwhile, Stark is now portrayed as an antagonist; thus the Civil War begins.
On the directorship side, making a comeback for Captain America 3 are Joel and Anthony Russo. The Russo brothers will work with screenwriters Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus. Director of Photography Trent Opaloch also returns. Actor Frank Grillo might also return as Crossbones, one of the villains.
Turning Ironman into an antagonist gives Downey a chance to make his future roles in Marvel movies more challenging; and at the same time the Marvel writers can also 'cook' other stories surrounding Tony Stark.
When it comes to revenue, according to BoxOffice Mojo, the film 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' earned 259 million in total gross, while the Ironman 2 earned 312 million. In fact the Ironman film series earned a total gross of approximately one billion. So if "Captain America 3" movie surpasses the said earning 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' is it because of Robert Downey?
Aside from Ironman, fans are hoping that other Avengers' superheroes will also show up in "Captain America 3". Like Emily VanCamp as Agent 13/ Sharon Carter; Jeremy Renner as none other than Hawkeye or Clint Barton; Mark Ruffalo as none other than Hulk or Bruce Banner; Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Scarlett Johansson as none other than Black Widow or Natasha Romanoff.
Marvel Studios plans to release "Captain America 3" come May 2016. Productions will start in 2015.
