Taylor Swift's "Out of the Woods:" Should Be Upgraded To Official Single
In the music industry, it's very common for an artist to release an iTunes Countdown Singles. In the case of Taylor Swift, her latest album "1989" will be release on Oct. 27.
Big Machine Records/Universal got a strategic idea of releasing some of its tracks for purchase on iTunes prior to the release of the album. When a song is released through iTunes Countdown Singles, it means that it won't be used as official single anymore. But the fans of Taylor Swift felt upset that these tracks won't be used as official singles, just because it's released through iTunes, that is according to Direct Lyrics.
This issue raised a lot of questions about Swift's latest song "Out of the Woods." This 80's-inspired electronic jam co-written by Jack Antonoff, is the first iTunes Countdown Singles from the album "1989" and Taylor released it last Tuesday.
According to Music Times, Taylor's latest song "Oozes slow moving power pop potential and taps into a whole new set of ears. This song is a totally new offering from Swift and one that may actually appeal to a large untapped audience for her: the indie rock snobs."
"Out of the Woods" immediately became a hit song and it reached the number one spot on iTunes on the same day of its release. But does Taylor not considering making "Out of the Woods" the official follow-up to "Shake it off?"
When the Twitter fans asked whether "Out of the Woods" have the guts to be her next single, Taylor has a very simple answer; "Out of the Woods" is not her next single. She might be trying to tell to the public that this is just a promo single for the fans, but her answers can also be translated to "I have better songs on "1989" than this, you just hold on".
So there you have it. "Out of the Woods" is not her new single. But for you Taylor fans out there, what do you think? Should "Out of the Woods" be her next official single?
