‘Allegiant’: ‘Divergent’ Series Third Installment in Two Parts, Part 1 to Premiere in 2016

"Allegiant": "Divergent" Series Third Installment in Two Parts, Part 1 to Premiere in 2016
Fans are thrilled to witness Tris and Four team up in the film "Divergent" in big screen, the first of the "Divergent" Series. "Divergent" premiered in cinemas last March 2014, which grossed nearly $140 million globally after a month.
"Allegiant" is the third installment of the "Divergent" Series, based from the "Divergent" Trilogy authored by Veronica Roth. The third book is written combining the perspective of both Tris and Four, as they endeavor into the world beyond the fence and are taken into defensive guardianship by an enigmatic agency known as the Bureau of Genetic Welfare.
The third film installment will star Shailene Woodley as Beatrice/ Tris and Theo James as Tobias/Four. Naomi Watts will also star as Evelyn, Four's mother. Woodley previously appeared as Hazel in "The Fault in Our Stars" while James was known in his role as Detective Walter Clark in the TV series "Golden Boy."
"Allegiant" is set to be directed by Robert Schwentk, with Brian Duffield and Akiva Goldman, serving as writers. The Hollywood Reporter also revealed that Noah Oppenheim will be the film screenwriter. Oppenheim also wrote the screenplay for "The Maze Runnner." The film will be produced by Lucy Fisher, Puoya Shahbazian, and Douglas Wick. "The storytelling arc and world of the characters lend themselves perfectly to two films, a storytelling strategy that has worked very well for us on the two Twiliht Breaking Dawn films and about which we're tremendously enthusiastic for the two upcoming 'Mockingjay' films of 'The Hunger Games' franchise,' said Friedman and Waschberger in Deadline.
According to Popwatch, the film will end with death of one of the story's characters. This leaves the story with a tragic ending.
Just like "Harry Potter," "The Twilight Saga" and "The Hunger Games", the third installment of "Divergent" Series will be split into two films, as officially announced by Lionsgate last April 11, 2014. According to Screenrant, the first half is set to be released in theaters and cinemas on March 18, 2016 while the second part is to be released on March 24, 2017, under Summit Entertainment.
Meanwhile, fans have to wait for the second installment of the "Divergent" Series, "Insurgent," which will premiere on March 20, 2015.
