'The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair': The Adventures in Narnia Keep Going, Fourth Installment in the Works
"The Chronicles of Narnia" is a series of fantasy films based on a series of novels of the same title written by C.S. Lewis. The series centered on the adventures of children in the World of Narnia. The children were guided by Aslan, a wise and mighty lion that can talk. Aslan is the true king of Narnia.
Out of the seven novels, three film adaptations have been made so far - "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" last 2005, "Prince Caspian" last 2008, and "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" last 2010. The three installments have grossed more than $1.5 billion internationally.
The first movie in the C.S. Lewis series, "The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe" starred Georgie Henley as Lucy, Skyndar as Edmund, Anna Popplewell as Susan, and William Moseley as Peter. Liam Neeson voiced the lion king Aslan. Aslan is a character that is based from Christ, so that children would turn away from evil. Reports from Latintimes said that it was rumored that "The Magician's Nephew" would be the next film; a prequel story to the Pevensie children's adventures in Narnia.
The C.S. Lewis Company announced last Oct. 1, 2013 that it reached an agreement with the Mark Gordon Company to produce the fourth installment, "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair". Mark Johnson, Douglas Gresham, and Vincent Siber from The C.S. Lewis Company will produce the film and they will work with The Mark Gordon Company for the script development. David Magie will write the screenplay.
Mark Gordon said in a statement, "Like many readers, both young and old, I am a huge fan of C.S. Lewis's beautiful and allegorical world of Narnia," he said. "These fantasy stories inspire real-world passion among millions of devoted fans around the world," he added. According to Screenrant, the team up between The C.S. Lewis Company and Mark Gordon Company is critical to get the ball rolling once more and for production to start.
There is no official announcement with regards to the exact release date as well as the cast for the fourth installment of the film. However, there are rumors circulating that the release of the film will be sometime in 2016.
