"American Horror Story" Season 4 Recap: Circus Turned Into a 'Freak Show'; Murdering Clown Made The Show the Scariest
America's horror anthology series has delivered yet another terrifying episode with its circus 'Freak Show' that featured a murdering clown. If you are one of those who missed the show, this recap is for you.
"American Horror Story" Season 4 premiered last Oct. 8 with another new set of casts and plot that is soon dubbed the most terrifying episode to date, HNGN reported.
"The fourth season of American Horror Story subtitled 'Freak Show,' kicked off Wednesday night (Oct. 8) with a killer clown and a band of circus performers trying to revive their show."
Set in 1950's Jupiter, Florida, American Horror Story's newest season tackles a haunting story of a set of odd circus performers that tries to revive their show.
IBTimes reported that the show, with its original cast including Jessica Lange, Angela Bassett, Evan Peters and Kathy Bates, started with the arrival of the group of odd circus performers.
"As this troupe of 'unusuals' arrives in town they coincide with the strange emergence of a dark entity that savagely threatens the lives of townsfolk and freaks alike."
The main character, the murdering clown, that killed parents and rob the little kids, is dubbed as the scariest clown ever. Hidden under a creepy clown mask, Observer said Rob Zombie clown killed adults at night while they are sleeping.
The murderous clown will then "abduct little boys and wayward young women" after killing their parents. The killing clown's murders were soon blamed against the town's folks and an investigation took place.
Sticking to American Horror Story's trademark of tackling the problems of society's 'outcasts', the freaks are considered the good guys in this season 4. This includes Kimmy Darling, the lobster boy, Gretel, Darling's mother and the bearded lady of the carnival, and Dot and Bette, the show's conjoined twins.
"American Horror Story" Season 4's protagonists, the group of odd circus performers, eventually connived in hiding the murder of a detective that called them monsters. They kept their secret by chopping the body of the poor guy that Jimmy killed by slicing the detective's throat.
On the other hand, the normal people of Jupiter, Florida is considered the antagonists in this Freak Show as they unwelcomed the 'freaks'. "The "bad guys" are the society that has created the conditions where these folks can't live normal lives because of their visible differences."
"American Horror Story" got positive rave reviews and Jessica Lange's acting was also commended.
