The Flash Season 1 Episode 2 Spoilers and Preview: Flash Next Meets Multiplex, the Replicating Man
The Flash Season 1 episode 2 which airs Tuesday, October 14, at the 8 PM time slot on the The CW TV network is entitled "The Fastest Man Alive." Written by Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg and directed by David Nutter, the next installment in the TV adaptation of the DC Comics series will open with CSI Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) escorting his best friend and his boss' daughter Iris West (Candice Patton) to a university gathering honoring scientist Simon Stagg (guest star William Sadler). When six gunmen storm the event, Barry changes into The Flash and tries to stop them. While he does save a man's life, he passes out before he can capture the robbers, which frustrates him. As the Team Flash of S.T.A.R. labs, composed of Dr. Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh), Dr. Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) and Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes), scrambles to find out what's wrong with Barry, Detective Joe West (Jesse Martin) comes down hard on him for taking the law into his own hands and risking his life. Meanwhile, Iris becomes even more intrigued by the "red streak" she just witnessed in action at the university.
Barry then also realizes that it wasn't six gunmen but a metahuman named Danton Black (guest star Michael Christopher Smith) who can make multiples of himself, was the one who actually staged the attack at the Simon Stagg gathering. According to the DC Wiki, Danton was a scientist who gained the power to fission apart into multiple copies of himself, which he called his duploids. Codenamed Multiplex, he was also affiliated with the Government's Suicide Squad run by Amanda Waller. If so, he could at some point also have ties with Lyla, Diggle and maybe even Oliver Queen/Arrow before he was returned to Starling City.
