Iron Man 4 Latest Update: "I'm Going to Do Other Stuff With Marvel"-Robert Downey Jr., Iron Man 4 Isn't Coming Yet
During his interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Robert Downey Jr. while promoting his movie "The Judge," also talked about his popular film Iron Man. He was specfically asked if there will be "Iron Man 4" soon. He said yes, confirming that the planning for the fourth installment is currently in the works.
"I know there are going to be a bunch more Marvel movies," he said, "and they have big ideas of how to do it best and [they're] in the middle of negotiation, blah blah blah..."
However, after he had the interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Robert Downey Jr. changed his tune. He also appeared on "The Late Show" and when David Letterman asked about Iron Man, his answer could not be more different.
"There [are] no plans for an Iron Man 4," he answered. Some fans are going to be heartbroken about this. However, he did not entirely slash the hopes of the fans, saying there's some vague plan that is going to be announced soon.
Asked why not, the 49-year-old star said, "That's a valid question. Like it hasn't made enough money? Yeah, I guess they have too much money or something. There is no script for Iron Man 4. They do have a plan and I think they're going to announce it [soon]."
Letterman didn't give up, he asked another question of the same nature to see if the actor will change his tune again.
"Just between us, no," he answered Letterman, late-night host of the show. "But, I'm going to do other stuff with Marvel. I'm still going to be involved with Marvel and there's going to be plenty of fun stuff to happen."
Robert Downey Jr. is the lead star of "The Judge" movie which will hit theaters on October 10, 2014.
