'The Flash': Grant Gustin Also Received Credits For His Exceptional Performance For The Comic Series
DC Comics along with "Arrow" is up with its colorful and exciting DC hero adaptation, "The Flash." The highly anticipated super-speeding hero series on CW is slated to be aired on Tuesday.
Earlier there was a pilot screening held in San Diego Comic Con International and it's not a surprise that it garnered a lot of undisputed praise. ComicBook.com claimed that it is the best comic book TV program that they've ever watched after "The Walking Dead."
The comic book writer, Mark Waid received praises during the Comic Con. Aside from the brains of the show, the lead star Grant Gustin also received credits for his exceptional performance for the comic series. The Glee veteran stated that he felt so lucky to get the lead role.
Andrew Kreisberg, the show's executive producer expressed his full admiration to Gustin. Kreisberg admitted to reporters that if not with Gustin or any other actor with the same caliber, the project could not have been that successful.
The 24-year old former Glee star also shared that he has spent a lot of his time on the treadmill everyday to get into shape as "The Flash." Gustin also shared that although he's way going to be in great shape, he admitted that he has not attained yet Stephen Amell's chiseled built.
When Gustin was asked what could be the similarities between himself and his character Barry (Flash) he stated, "I've always kind of followed my passion, and I think it's why I'm lucky enough to get to play this role right now, and I think (Barry ) is kind of overwhelmed at times by the powers he has, and it's a little scary but it's also exciting. And that's kind of how I feel about doing the show, to be honest. It's a little scary, but it's mostly just exciting."
The Flash similar to "The Arrow" will be bringing a lot of characters from the comic. Fans will be witnessing Simon Stagg, the villain Multiplex and the good guy Firestorm. Captain Cold and Captain Boomerang Flash's greatest opponents will also debut in the series.
The upcoming program will also retain the old characters of the comic franchise. There will be bit changes which will be appreciated by the viewers. The supporting casts of the highly praised comic TV series include Candice Patton, Jesse L. Martin, John Wesley Shipp and Tom Cavanagh.
The Flash will be airing every Tuesday 8pm ET starting beginning Oct. 7 on CW.
