Dragon Ball Xenoverse Release Date and Gameplay: Dragon Ball Fans will Surely wait for the next New Dragon Ball Game coming in 2015
Namco's new Dragon Ball game is set to release early in 2015. Dubbed "Dragon Ball: Xenoverse", the game will be somewhat different from the previous games in the franchise.
The player will create his own character. This sets a new experience even for seasoned Dragon Ball fans. The players will still battle familiar characters from the Dragon Ball series. A new secret character will also be a part of the Dragon Ball: Xenoverse game. No details about the upcoming character has been revealed however.
Another new feature in the gameplay, players will be able to charge and transform to a super Saiyan during battles. This is different from the past games where players will have to choose before battles if they will be going super Saiyan or not. This adds a new curve for the game's battling system.
Also, Namco says that the player will be able to explore the planet Earth, (as how it exists and sits in the storyline of the Dragon Ball series) a new mysterious city that the developers are still quiet on, and a few more locations scattered throughout.
The game will be powered, partially, by the Havok physics engine. By using the engine, there will be more destructible components and elements in the battlefield. It also adds a sense of realism and will look better than past fighting games where the destruction in the environment is scripted animations.
For the game's graphics, the developers also used a post-processing middleware called YIBIS 2. This is to make the game look colorful, fantastic and updated. The characters really look like their anime counterparts.
The developers say that they are building the Dragon Ball: Xenoverse specifically for the next gen consoles, the Xbox One and the Playstation 4. The next gen version of the game is also said to look better than its last gen counterparts, this may be due to the technical upgrades for the next gen consoles. They also said that there will be additional gameplay features for the Xbox One and the Playstation 4, Kinect integration and the Playstation camera might be used to this effect.
The company did not give out specific dates for the game's release, but they did confirm that Dragon Ball: Xenoverse will be coming out early in 2015.
