Assassins Creed Rogue Reveals, Reviews and Plot: Assassins Creed Rogue does not add on the Gameplay but Retains Sea Adventure Plot
Assassins Creed Rogue is going to be released on November 11th this year just a couple of months away and will be available on X Box 360 and Playstation 3. The game was a surprising late announcement and is going to expound on the Haytham Kenway section as concerns Assassin's creed III by putting the players in the shoes of the former assassin that went rogue, Shay Patrick Cormac. When you look at some of the gameplay footage from Assassins Creed: Rogue, from EGX, it is difficult to see the game as anything other than a large expansion for the fourth Assassin's Creed version.
Assassin's Creed Unity seems to have abandoned naval gameplay and goes in a new direction. While Assassin's Creed Rogue has been put together from the assets of the Assassin's Creed IV as the new protagonist and the locations do not do much when it comes to disguising the fact that there is little in the way of the new gameplay features. This is not that surprising taking into account that Assassins Creed Rogue is only being released on Playstation 3 and X Box 360 platforms. As such, it makes more sense that Ubisoft would concentrate more on Assassins Creed Unity than a title that is being released for the last generation consoles. The thing is that Rogue is quite similar to Black Flag that it seems possible that it was originally conceived as a DLC for Assassin's Creed: Freedom Cry.
However, it was marketed long enough for it to warrant a standalone release. This may not be such a bad idea since for example, Assassin's Creed IV was a step in the right direction for a franchise that needed some more publicity and a lot of the fans are going to miss the naval gameplay that is going to be absent in Assassins Creed Unity. As such, Assassin's Creed Rogue offers a big dose of sea adventures and it looks like quite a good addition to the franchise, and it couldn't hurt Ubisoft one bit, as well.
