'Nexus 9': Google HTC Upcoming Tablet to be Released this Fall 2014
Google and HTC partnership is widely expected to launch a high-end Nexus 9 tablet in the coming weeks. A new report from The Wall Street Journal all but confirms the deals.
According to reports, HTC has been chosen to craft the 9-inch tablet for Google. Multinational corporation Google and Taiwanese company HTC executives have been strategizing and working on the future tablet device, reports also say.
The device is revealed as an 8.9-inch Nexus 9, which was also given the nickname HTC Volantis. The 9-inch HTC tablet was believed to be released in the market in June 2015.
The tablet is believed to have a 9-inch display of 2,048 by 1,440, with 281 pixels per inch. It has been integrated with a 64-bit Nvidia Logan processor (Tegra K1). In addition, it will possess 3GB RAM plus an internal storage of 16GB, 32GB, and LTE. The pre-release price plans divulge that the 16GB tab will bet at $399, while the 32GB model will be at $499. The LTE version of the 9-inch tablet will be as high as $600.
Google's decision to pick HTC among others reflects its upright standpoint of building a broad base of partners. The multinational corporation favors changing its partner so as to avert a single manufacturer from monopolizing the devices. Google did not state the reason for changing partners for its Nexus devices. HTC has done efforts to maintain its market sales, with competitors around. The Taiwanese company's executives have commenced that they are currently working up on others aspects in the market such as wearable devices, just like Sony, Samsung, Apple, and Motorola.
"Android is a vibrant ecosystem, and many of the industry players are doing well. There's room for many partners to do well and to innovate with Android." Google stated in The Journal.
HTC One, HTC's leading device, has obtained several reviews, identifying them as the outstanding android smartphones for last year and this year.
The market reaction for the HTC Nexus tab is still vague. However, the Taiwanese company anticipate a favorable result just like what happened to Asus' considerable profit increase by double digits on their sales of the Nexus 7 two years ago.
Rumors say that HTC will reveal the Nexus 9 at an upcoming event on October 8, 2014. However, recent reports say that Google will launch Nexus 9 this fall together with the release of the highly-anticipated Android L software.
