Star Wars: Episode VII, will be directed by David Fincher, he visited Kathleen Kennedy to discuss more about the movie.
Star Wars: Episode VII, will be directed by David Fincher, the director of "The Gone Girl; the report says that he was visited Disney to discuss more details on blockbuster franchise and expected to bring with a movie about C-3PO and R2-D2 witnessing 'the folly of man'. He also revealed that he would consider directing Star Wars: Episode VII. Fincher visited Kathleen Kennedy, the president of the Lucas Film to discuss the movie project, Fincher told Total Film. He also says that he will have a different approach to the movie and it will be quite different from JJ Abram's preparation.
"It's tricky ... My favorite is The Empire Strikes Back," said Fincher. "If I said, 'I want to do something more like that,' then I'm sure the people paying for it would be like, 'No! You can't do that! We want it like the other one with all the creatures!'"
"The story of two slaves [C-3PO and R2-D2] who go from owner to owner, witnessing their masters' folly, the ultimate folly of man..." "I thought it was an interesting idea in the first two, but it's kind of gone by Return of the Jedi." He continued.
Flincher proved himself as an assistant cameraman for "Return of the Jedi", he is currently under the work of "Gone Girl"; Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike are the leading actors of the movie. In the interview Flincher does not disclose the possibility of his participation in the upcoming installment of Star Wars: Episode VII. He just mentioned his interest of participation on this block buster movie, but did not reveal anything about Kennedy's decision regarding this.
Star Wars: Episode VIII, and Star Wars: Episode IX will be directed by Rian Johnson and Gareth Edwards respectively. Since 2016, Walt Disney plans to release new movie each year and currently working on that, Theguardian reports.
