'Insurgent' Movie Spoilers: Cast, Plot, Twists, Release Date in 2015
Insurgent is an upcoming science fiction action film, based on Insurgent, the second book in the New York Times bestselling Divergent trilogy, crafted by Veronica Roth. This is the sequel to the 2014 film Divergent and the second installment of the Divergent Series.
Divergent is a thrilling action-adventure film that is fixed in a realm in futuristic Chicago where its inhabitants are separated into distinctive factions, which are based on human virtues. The film follows Tris Prior, who was warned that she is Divergent and will never get along into any other group. She later finds out a treachery by Erudite's faction leader to terminate all Divergents. She trusts Four as they discover what makes being a Divergent so perilous.
Insurgent stars Shailene Woodley as Beatrice "Tris" Prior, Theo James as Tobias "Four" Eaton, and Kate Winslet as Jeanice Matthews.
Other prominent members of the cast include Ansel Elgort as Caleb Prior, Ray Stevenson as Marcus Eaton, Miles Teller as Peter Hayes, Octavia Spencer as Johanna Reyes, Naomi Watts as Evelyn Johnson-Eaton, Daniel Dae Kim as Jack Kang, and Keiynan Lonsdale as Uriah Pedrad.
Divergent's second installment continues to keep an eye on Tris Prioras she attempts to find out the purpose of Erudite's uprising as well as the information the Abnegation is trying to safeguard. She and Four are now fugitives, tracked down by Jeanine, the power-thirsty Erudite leader.
Tris, Four, Caleb, Peter, and Marcus go to Amity, where the Abnegation survivors stay. Amity announces that all factions may look for protection in the area provided that they live peacefully. Erudite and Dauntless arrive at Amity to find the Abnegation.
Tris, Four, Caleb, and Susan meet the factionless, including Edward, former Dauntless initiate. The factionless is led by evelyn, Four's mother, who was thought to be dead.
Evelyn informs Four that he has to plead the Dauntless to join forces with the factionless.
Later, Tris and Four go to Candor. They are arrested and put to a truth serum trial. In the trial, Tris admits that she was the one who shot Will. This makes Four and Christina angry.
The Dauntless, led by Eric, attacks Candor and manages to capture them. They also figure out a new serum that is capable of controlling victims from great distances.
Four, Tori, and Harrison become new leaders of Dauntless. Four killed Eric.
One of Four's fear landscape changed. Instead of shooting a woman, he has to watch Tris die. He agrees with the factionless to destroy Erudite and build a new government.
Tris informs Four her intent on sacrificing herself to Erudite. She undergoes several simulations. She also sees her Caleb working for Jeanine.
Despite all her efforts, Jeanine is not able to control Tris with her simulations.
Marcus informs Tris that her parents died to protect the information that Jeanine stole. He convinces Tris that the information should be made public.
Tris, with the help of Will's sister Cara, transmits the data to other factions. Tori kills Jeanine.
Evelyn soon announces a new factionless government and society. Tris and Four discovers through a video that the world had become corrupt and the faction system was established as the answer to this corruption. The city was closed from the rest of the world, and people should re-enter the world when those identified as Divergent had increased in numbers.
The film is set to be directed by Robert Schwentke. Scwehntke took over as director since Neil Burger acts as the executive producer of the movie. Lucy Fisher, Pouya Shabazian, and Douglas Wick produced the second installment of the Divergent series, with a screenplay by Akiva Goldsman and Brian Duffield.
Insurgent is under Summit Entertainment and A Lionsgate Company. It began its filming last May 27, 2014 in Atlanta, Georgia, and officially concluded last September 6, 2014.
Divergent Series: Insurgent is plotted to have its debut on theaters and IMAX cinemas on March 20, 2015 in the United States.
