'General Hospital' Recap: Bringing the Pieces Together
General Hospital (GH) is an American daytime television medical drama, which revolves in a general hospital (hence, its drama title) located in Port Charles, a community on the coast in the upper part of New York.
The current plot presents people who work in the General Hospital, people who serve in the business community, and former agents of the World Security Bureau (WSB). The medical drama is listed in the Guinness World Records as the longest-running American soap-opera in terms of production and the third-longest running drama in the American television history, following Guiding Light and As the World Turns. More than that, it is the third longest-running scripted drama series in the world in terms of production, following The Archers and Coronation Street.
As for the last week, it started off with Robin and Jason contesting towards Port Charles in order to join up with their loved ones. Afterwards, they agreed to part ways - Jason went to Sonny's while Robin went to her mother's house.
Arriving in Port Charles safely, Jason was at Sonny's entrance door. When he was about to go in, a mysterious person with a gun threatened him that if he won't come along, Sam and Sonny will be hurt. He was not able to resist, so he followed.
Meanwhile, Robin became very anxious when he saw Helena in his mom's room. Helena ordered Robin to contact Patrick and Ana through skype and say farewell. Robin complied and informed the two that she will be going to Paris and will be sending the divorce papers. Knowing this shocked Pat and Ana, while it made Helena happy. She also told her plans to Robin.
Shawn was taking Ava away when Jordan arrived. Ava pleaded her to halt Shawn and said that Sonny was going to end her life once the baby is born. Jordan threatens Shawn with a gun, while Ava got away. While hysterically driving while calling Julian for rescue, Jason appeared and got hit by Ava.
Jordan arrived and called 911 for help, sending Ava away. The unconscious Jason was brought by the paramedics to General Hospital. After that, Jason arrived at the ER and where Liz was currently on duty. Liz did not recognize Jason, since his face was covered with gauze. Liz helped into normalizing him and vows that she will be present after the surgery.
Kiki disclosed to Franco that Sonny and Carly slept together. On Franco's birthday, Carly gave him a loving toast. Franco surprised them as he proposed to Carly. To her surprise, Carly accepted the proposal. Franco suggested that they get married on Halloween, which was then agreed by Carly. Michael told the engagement news to Sonny, which was unpleased. Shawn then appeared and told Sonny that Ava got away. Sonny kept on demanding Julian to say where Ava was. After that, Julian disturbed the date of Alexis and Ned, and asked help to find Ava.
Kiki told Morgan about the engagement and that Franco is aware that Carly and Sonny slept together. Morgan wanted to inform Michael, but then Kiki told him that Franco requested her not to. Later, Ava arrived and sought help with Morgan. Ava did not disclose the incident earlier; however, she informed Sonny's threat to kill her. Morgan agreed to hide Ava.
Dante and Lula came back home and were welcomed by Nik, Olivia, and Rocco. Lulu informs Dante that she would like to focus on him and Rocco, instead of having another baby.
Meanwhile at the police station, Mac and Felicia reunited with Maxie. Nathan reconnects to Britt and asked Maxie out on a date, which the latter agreed.
Luke sent Kobe, another hitman, to Port Charles to inform Julian that the boss was not satisfied that Ava did not kill Michael. Kobe visited Julian to know where Ava was. Julian did not know and Jordan arrived. Kobe threatened that since Ava killed Mickey diamond, then the boss watches her, too.
Tracy arrived, disturbing Dante and Lulu's sweet morning. Tracy asked any news about Luke and told them that she did not know what was going on. Dante was thinking that Luke was going to the Jeromes. Sam and Patrick disclosed their speculations about Luke to Alexis. Alexis recalled Julian receiving a mysterious text message at the party, which started to bring the pieces together.
The General Hospital stars Kristen Alderson as Starr Manning and Kiki Jerome, Vinessa Antoine as Jordan Ashford, Maurice Bernard as Sonny Corinthos, Sean Blakemore as Shawn Butler, and Teresa Castillo as Sabrina Santiago.
The medical drama was created by the couple soap writers Frank and Dories Hursley. The executive producer is Emmy and DGA Award winner Frank Valentini, along with Ron Carlivati serving as the writer. General Hospital was filmed mostly in California.
From the beginning, General Hospital premiered on the ABC Television network on April 1, 1963, which is also the series' anniversary. It claimed its throne as the oldest American soap opera on September 17, 2010, when As the World Turns ended. Up to present, the medical drama can be watched during weekdays at 2e|1c|p on ABC Television network.
