From the Big Screen to the Small Screen, New TV show to Watch Out for: The Girlfriend Experience starring Riley Keough
Before, whenever there is a successful TV series, it is immediately turned into a film in the big screen. Nowadays though, the trend is set backwards. There are now many successful films that have been turned into TV series. Among them is 'The Girlfriend Experience' by Steven Soderbergh that was premiered last 2009. Who better to star on this series is none other than Riley Keough who nailed a small part in the comedy Magic Mike, which is another Soderbergh project.
Keough is the granddaughter of the legendary Elvis Presley and is relatively a new face in Hollywood. She had various small appearances in music videos and series, among them 2010's The Runaways, playing as Dakota Fanning's sister. Many are speculating that 'The Girlfriend Experience' might just turn her into a bigger star.
The series 'The Girlfriend Experience' would not differ much from the film's storyline. The lead character is an escort, but whose work involves very little sexual skills. Her job is not to pleasure the customers for a night but to provide them with an experience on how it feels to have a pseudo-relationship and be shown off on public appearances. As to who Keough's future clients will be, no definite details have been given yet, but we will make sure to update you as soon as we get the information.
The first season will have thirteen episodes and will be directed by Lodge Kerrigan and Amy Seimetz. It has been reported that directorial duties will be split up between the two, which would be very interesting to watch on primetime. This is it for now, but we'll be giving you more updates real soon!
