Angelina Jolie Is Going To Direct A New Film - "Africa, Africa"
Angelina Jolie is back on the director's seat. The actress is going to direct and produce an "anti-poaching" film titled "Africa, Africa."
This is not the first time that the actress directed a controversial film. Her directorial debut in 2011, "In the Land of Blood and Honey," was a controversial one. The movie was set during the Bosnian war. It's about the love story between a Serb soldier and a Bosnian Muslim woman. Critics of the film are saying that the "director is telling lies." Angelina Jolie's next directorial film is "Unbroken." It is due for release this December. Unbroken is another war film that focuses on "Japanese prisoner of war camps of the Second World War."
Angelina Jolie will both star and direct the new film "By the Sea" together with her husband, Brad Pitt.
Africa, Africa is a "personal project" for Angelina Jolie. The actress said, "I've felt a deep connection to Africa and its culture for much of my life." She described the film as "a man drawn into the violent conflict with elephant poachers, who emerged with a deeper understanding of man's footprint and a profound sense of responsibility for the world around him."
The movie is written by Eric Roth and is about the life of Richard Leakey, a famous paleontologist. It tells a story about his battle, to save the elephants in Kenya, from trading ivory illegally. Leakey is the former head of the Kenya Wildlife Service. He is known for his hard stand against poachers. At the time, he was working with former President Daniel Arap Moi. Leakey started to create armed anti-poaching units. Leakey made his headline when he burned 12 tons of ivory at Nairobi, National Park.
Angelina Jolie is in for a challenge. This is going to be one of the most highly anticipated film in the history.
