Planet of the Apes 3 Movie: Director Matt Reeves on "Kobo" and the 3rd Planet of the Apes Movie
Planet of the Apes 3, the next movie to Dawn of the Planet of the Apes was announced earlier on, and the movie director, Matt Reeves, shared a few details on the next Planet of the Apes film.
Director Matt Reeves commented on the upcoming new movie in an interview, "Mark Bomback and I are going to be writing the next one...it's really important to me that whatever we do next is something that can be better than Dawn, so hopefully we can achieve that aim. I don't necessarily think that there will be as big a leap between films. I see Caesar as a seminal figure in ape history and he's a mythic character. He's essentially like their Moses and I think Caesar having to grapple with what it means to engage in this conflict that he doesn't really want to be a part of and how that cuts at his core is going to be one of the great challenges for the character. I also think it's a generational story. He has children and I think it's going to be...to be there are many chapters of this mythic ape journey towards the original '68 movie".
The director also hinted that Toby Kebbell may return to the upcoming new movie as "Kobo", the villain. Director Reeves said, "I thought Toby Kebbell gave such an incredible performance. And I thought he was so powerful and I thought God you don't find a villain who has got that great a story...so I actually had been working on a version where you could actually see him survive and I realized that it wasn't - it was Caesar's movie and it was undercutting the whole idea. And so as we were mixing I was like I want to just leave one tiny Easter egg at the end. I want to leave open the door just the tiniest crack. So you found the crack".
For now, Planet of the Apes 3 is scheduled for a release on July 29, 2016, so keep yourself posted for more updates on the movie plot, cast, trailers, and release date.
