PS4 Slim Release Date: Are We Going to See the PS4 Slim Anytime Soon?
Playstation 4 is out in the market. Despite its popularity and high sales, it is noticeable that there are many gamers who did not easily jumped on buying the new console. Are they waiting for the slim version? Are we seeing the PS4 Slim in the market anytime soon?
Playstation has been one of the most, if not the most, sold out console in history. Back in 1994, Sony first released the original Playstation and it made 100 million sales in the first decade since its release. Its successors performed even better. Playstation 2 sold millions within its release date. And today, the newest member of this family, the Playstation 4 was able to hit 1 million within 24 hours. That has got to be a record!
It is no wonder that Playstation 4 performed this well in the market. It is just a powerful console. In fact, Sony was claiming that PS4 is the "world's most powerful console". It comes with an accelerated AMD x84-64 processing unit, with a GPU up to 1.843 teraflops.
Sony has been known to release a slim version of their latest console. With the PS4 now out in the market. Gamers are already on the lookout for PlayStation 4 Slim. Much talks and speculations abound online as gamers discuss what could be expected from this slim version.
Wololo, a website dedicated to updates on computers and gadgets, claimed that Sony has been known to release the slim versions in September and October. This practice is in relation to Black Friday, which is also known to be a shopping season.
This view, however, was contradicted by Matt Tran of Product Reviews. According to him, PS4 may not be released in the same manner its slim predecessors were. This would give Sony enough time to collate data from gamer feedbacks on the latest PS4. They will then incorporate the changes into the PS4 Slim, giving the slim version a far better performance than the original PS4.
Although talks seem to point that the PS4 Slim will be out by 2015 or 2016, it still remains largely speculation. There has been no official word from Sony as of today. It would seem that the makers of the console prefer to keep things a little secret. While they were at it, gamers all over the world are drooling with anticipation.
