Beetlejuice 2 Release Date: To be Announced Soon as Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder Confirmed Roles

It was just six months ago, that a sequel to the 1988 hit horror comedy film, Beetlejuice was announced. Unfortunately, the follow-up movie, which is originally planned in the 1990's didn't materialize.

The movie is based on an animated series entitled Beetlejuice, about a dead couple haunting to get their home back from a family who bought it. The desperate couple tried to seek Beetlejuice's help to scare the new owner of the house. All these would lead them into an uncanny and fun trail of adventure.

The success of the American film directed by Tim Burton, was marked by the various awards received at the 61st Academy and  British Academy of Film and Television Arts. The movie also ranked 88th on American Film Institute's Best Comedy list. The animated version was  revived on ABC and Fox after the film's success.

Beetlejuice's character as a horrible and deceitful ghost, will be reprised by star Michael Keaton. Winona Ryder, who was also first introduced in this film in her cameo appearance as Lydia Deetz, the daughter of the family, is also reported to be rooted in for the sequel.

Burton is currently making the arrangements with screenwriter and producer Seth Graham-Smith to finalize the script and casting. Keaton also confirmed his preliminary discussions with these two bosses and even gave hints in the making of the much awaited sequel. Ryder, also stated in an interview that she would be more than happy and excited to repeat her role in her breakthrough movie.

Despite these updates, the film is still in its initial stages of development. Fans of this classic and exceptionally delightful film must extend their patience a little more, because as of now, there's still no conclusive announcement regarding the final release of the movie.

Let's just be optimistic to hear the news about Beetlejuice 2 movie as soon as possible.
