'Independence Day 2' Movie Release Date Confirmed: Scheduled for July 2016 Launch; Two Back to Back Sequels Lined Up

'Independence Day 2' is coming. And, it is coming on July 1, 2016. On November 12, 2013, the producers announced that the sequel to the original 1996 American science fiction film will be release on July 1, 2016. And, that's super news for the all fans of Independence Day. There will two parts for the sequel namely ID Forever Part I and ID Forever Part II.

The film was huge hit at the box office and collected $817 million globally against a mere budget of $75 million. It is the second highest worldwide gross of in the 1996. The movie holds the record of 43rd highest grossing ever made. Independence Day is also the winner of Academy Awards for Best Visual Effects. One of the best movies depicting large scale disaster and science fiction in the 1990s.

The original movie was directed by Roland Emmerich, produced by Dean Devlin and written by Devlin himself along with the director Roland Emmerich. The lead role was played by Will Smith, Bill Pullman, Mary McDonnell, Judd Hirsch and Randy Quaid to name a few. The story we know is the invasion of aliens on earth and how the heroes destroy them.

The Independence Day 2 will refresh our memories. In March 2013, Emmerich described the sequels would be named as ID Forever I and ID forever Part II. The cast sad news is that Will Smith will not be in the sequel. However, Goldblum and Pullman are confirmed with their re-entry. Michael B. Jordan is also rumored to be playing a role in the movie.

The script of the first sequel Independence Day a.k.a. ID Forever Part I is being rewritten by Carter Blanchard. The movie is scheduled and confirmed with a release date of July 1, 2016. All eyes on it!
