Constantine TV Show Trailer, Release Date, Cast, Rumors And Latest Updates: Detective Jim Corrigan Also Known As The Spectre In The DC Universe Is The Newest Character In NBC's Constantine
We have the latest for you on the trailer, release date, cast, rumors and latest updates of Constantine TV show. Detective Jim Corrigan is the newest character in NBC's Constantine. The character is also known as The Spectre in the DC universe. Emmet Scanlan is set to take the role of the newly homicide detective role in New Orleans. He is well known in his appearances in BBC's Atlantis and "In the Flash". Scanlan was also involved in the movie Guardians of the Galaxy, where he acted as the head prison guard. This will be his first major gig and fans are curious to find out what he can bring to this part.
Executive Producer Daniel Cerone did tease about The Spectre coming into the show, but no confirmations yet. Though speaking hypothetically, Cerone mentioned that Jim Corrigan would be a police officer who usually takes the law into his hands. He would eventually end up dead and later reincarnate as The Spectre. The Spectre for those not up to the DC lore, is the Left Hand of God. He is responsible for spooky and horribly ironic acts that may include killing. The character enjoyed popularity back in the 90's and still does. The Spectre introduction to the cast would open up a hidden aspect of Constantine even further.
IGN further went into details about Corrigan's character and what to expect from him. They stated that Jim Corrigan would be a homicide detective at New Orleans and would embark into Constantine's world which is full of occult horrors. Corrigan is obsessed with seeking justice and he doesn't let the procedures or red tape hinder him from getting the villains, although they sometimes turn out not to be human (the villains).
Speculations have it that Corrigan will later become the Spectre during the first season or even later if the series becomes a hit. There have certainly been hints that this role may eventually turn into something much larger. Cerone remained positive about the possibilities, he added that they could get back the character and develop him further in the future and maybe open up the story framework of the TV series. The trailer has been online for some time giving fans a sneak peek on what to expect once the series premieres.
The series is expected to premiere its first episode on NBC on October 24th.
