Lenovo Tab S8 Release date, Specs, and News: New Tablet As Thin as the iPad only at $200
Lenovo just unveiled their new tablet, the Tab S8 as they're calling it, and features some promising specs.
Lenovo is one of the largest laptop manufacturers in the world and it's no surprise that they'll have to step up their game in the tablet industry. With the likes of Apple's iPad and Samsung's Galaxy Tab, they really have a lot of work to do. With the reveal of the Tab S8 however proves that they may be a serious threat to the other tech giants.
Lenovo is known to have a great working relationship with Intel from all the laptops that they've manufactured over the years, and now a partnership between the two for this new endeavor will shape the way Intel-powered Android devices are received by consumers.
The Tab S8 is an 8-inch device weighs in at 0.65 pound which makes it lighter than the iPad. The multi-touch screen boasts a 1920x1200 resolution display and is said to have a battery life of seven hours. It will also come with an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera. Under the hood the device runs on a quad-core Intel Atom processor with 2Gb of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. On the software side, it will run on Android 4.4 KitKat but will eventually be updated to the upcoming Android L. With all of that the device is priced at $199 which is about half of what Apple and Samsung are offering with their tablets.
Good pricing, though the seven-hour battery life may be a deal breaker for some users who heavily use tablets for everyday working needs. The Lenovo Tab S8 will be available sometime this month.
