Arrow Season 3 Premiere, Spoilers And Trailer: Oliver To Face A New Ongoing Nemesis, Ra's al Ghul, Who Will Cause Havoc And Strike An Emotional Cord with Oliver
We have the latest for you on the premiere, spoilers and trailer of Arrow season 3.The season finale of "Arrow" season 2 ended at a good note as Oliver Queen, who transformed from a hooded vigilante into a highly esteemed hero who received praises for keeping Starling City safe. Oliver's victory, however, was not to last long as will be witnessed when the action-packed series returns to CW this fall.
In the upcoming season, Oliver will face a new ongoing nemesis, Ra's al Ghul, who will cause havoc and strike an emotional cord with Oliver. Ra's al Ghul is the same villain that Batman faced in the Christopher Nolan "Batman Trilogy" starring Christian Bale. The executive producer, Andrew Kreisberg, was recently engaged in an interview by Comic Book Resources and he opened up about Ra's al Ghul and what makes him different from the other villains in the first and second season. According to Kreisberg, the villain's character is something that they have not done before.
Kreisberg said, "With Malcolm [Merlyn] it was a very specific villain who had a very specific agenda. That was designed where they didn't even necessarily know they were up against each other until the very end." More to this, lade Wilson, who was defeated by Arrow in season 2 wanted to revenge against Oliver. Kreisberg added, "For season three, we wanted a new challenge for Oliver. Ra's really speaks to the emotional theme of the season, which is, 'Can I be both Arrow and Oliver Queen at the same time?' the villain says to Oliver, 'The reason you're not able to fully be the arrow and do the things that you should be doing is because you are still holding on to Oliver Queen, I've left my identity behind to fully commit to my cause. If you did that, you could rise as high as I am.' Knowing that is what we emotionally wanted to do, that is how we landed on Ra's."
David Ramsey, who plays John Diggle on the show also hinted about the upcoming season. He said, "The big heavy is someone who will bring some darkness-even more so than Barrowman's Merlyn or Manu' Slade. I think the darkness is part of the overall tone of the show. We've talked about some more humor coming in, in terms of what Oliver does." The trailer for season 3 of Arrow is already online giving fans a sneak peek on what to expect in the upcoming season.
"Arrow" season 3 is expected to premiere on Wednesday, 8th October on the CW.
