Power Rangers Movie Release Date, Latest News and Other Updates: Power Ranger Movie to Revisit The Origin of the Mighty Morphin

Lionsgate, the studio behind the blockbuster hits such as 'The Hunger Games', 'Divergent', 'Enders Game' and many more successful franchises have just announced that they will be making a reboot of the Power Rangers Movie set to be released on July 22, 2016.  They are very confident that this movie will bring that little kid in movie-goers and give them the ultimate power ranger adventure.

Lionsgate has teamed up with Saban, the original creator of Mighty Morphin Power Ranger series to develop the film adaptation of the series. The script is to be written by Ashley miller and Zack Stentz who helped brought to life the film 'Thor' and 'X-Men' sequels. The film will be produced by Haim Saban Brian Casentini, Allison Sheamur and Roberto Orci. Needless to say, the upcoming film is in very good hands.  

So what is this film going to be about? For starters, the film will be tracing back to the origin of Mighty Morphin when a group of high school teenagers find themselves 'gifted' with extraterrestrial powers. They will harness the powers given to them to help save the earth and restore the peace in the universe.  The studio is still out to find a director who bring the concept to life and create another blockbuster for Lionsgate.

When Power Rangers 2 gets released on 2016, it will be competing with the following films that can pose a threat to its viewership, King Arthur, Independence Day 2, and Bourne 5 that are all scheduled around the same release date.
