Bloodborne Game Release Date, Rumors, News, and Updates: New Details Revealed
Bloodborne was announced at Sony's Electronic Entertainment Expo on June 9, 2014 where our first glimpse into the game was shown through a teaser trailer. The game is being developed by From Software and published by SCE Japan Studio. The game will be a PlayStation 4 exclusive upon its release. The game is being directed by Demon's Souls and Dark Souls director Hidetake Miyazaki.
The game is set in an abandoned ancient city named Yharnam, where pilgrims seek a cure for their afflictions but are eventually welcomed by the curse that's haunting the town. The protagonist of the game is also one of those pilgrims seeking a cure. Players of the game must navigate through the haunted streets of the city to battle through insane townsfolk and other monstrous entities that have overrun the city.
Gameplay footage from the game was shown last week during Gamescomm and was generally well-received. It has also been given praise for the gameplay for bringing elements from Dark Souls, which made the game more intuitive for players who are already familiar with the game.
Details from the new game have been published to the game's official website including information on some characters and monsters that will appear in the game. One of the characters is named Gascoigne and is described as "a lone person standing in a graveyard among whirling ashes, he's bloodied hunter," writes the description, "He looks like an experienced veteran, but details are unknown." Enemies of the game are also reported to be called "Cleric Beasts" which indicates that the monsters of the game depends on from which clergy the person in Yharnam belongs to. There are also 'mobs' of monsters that are named Beast hunting mob and Wheelchair Mob. The Beast hunting Mob are infected with the plague, but at the same time, they have the impulse to hunt those who are infected with the plague. Wheelchair mob are the same thing, only these are old men who are confined to wheelchair when they hunt. Carrion Crow are crows that will attack humans once they've smelled blood, and you will be forced to fight them off.
Information of weapons that can be used have also been listed. Saw Blade, Beast hunting Axe, and Beast hunting guns have been shown to be a part of the players' artillery to fight of hordes of the infected.
No official date has been set for the release of the game, but it has been teased that it will be released sometime in 2015.
