'Ant-Man' Movie Release Date Summer 2015, Marvel Releases First Images of Cast Star Paul Rudd (VIDEO)
Marvel has released the first image from the production of the upcoming movie Ant-Man currently filming in San Francisco (see picture above).
They tweeted the photo from Marvel's official twitter account writing, "Get your 1st look at Paul Rudd as Scott Lang in #Marvel's #AntMan, in theaters July 17, 2015!"
So the official release date for Ant-Man to hit theaters is July 17, 2015.
Paul Rudd will star as Scott Lang, the shady career criminal who turns good guy and takes over as Ant-Man from Hank Pym (Michael Douglas). Evangeline Lilly is cast as Pym's daughter Hope Van Dyne and Corey Stoll as Darren Cross, aka Yellowjacket (the villain).
The movie will also feature Judy Greer (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Michael Peña (End of Watch), Bobby Cannavale (Blue Jasmine), David Dastmalchian (a Joker thug in The Dark Knight and various other creepy guy roles), Wood Harris (Avon Barksdale from The Wire), Gregg Turkington (Neil Hamburger himself), T.I. (one of those hip-hopping fellows) and John Slattery. No casting decisions for these actors have been made official yet, except for Slattery, who will most likely be returning as Tony Stark's dad, Howard Stark.
The movie was originally scheduled to begin shooting earlier this summer before the departure of original director Edgar Wright and the arrival of Peyton Reed as his replacement. The movie will be shot on location in Atlanta as well as San Francisco.
Since all that we have currently is one picture of Paul Rudd filming at Scott Lang, you can enjoy a short clip of original test footage for the movie here:
