John Green's Paper Towns Movie Release Date, News, and Updates: New Adaptation to Be Released in 2015
With the success of the movie adaptation of Award-winning author John Green's The Fault in Our Stars, plans on another film based off of one of his books, Paper Towns, is set to be released on July 31, 2015.
Author John Green tweeted the news a couple of months back during the release of The Fault in Our Stars film that the same team will return to make the adaptation of his book, Paper Towns. It has been confirmed that Nat Wolff, who also stared in The Fault in our stars as Isaac, will star as lead character of Quentin Jacobsen. Paper Towns is about Quentin's journey to discover the mystery of the girl he has fond affections for, Margo Roth Spiegelman, and an adventure with his friends, Ben and Marcus, ensues across the states to New York.
After the breakthrough success of both the book and film of The Fault in Our Stars, it's no surprise that the same studio will be banking on another successful film with Paper Towns.
Paper Towns won't be the only book of Green's that will have a movie. It was also recently revealed that his book, Looking for Alaska, will have its own film made after years of being shelved. It was reported back in 2005 that it was potentially going to be written into a screenplay and directed by Josh Schwartz, but due to the lack of interest by Paramount, its production never went underway. John Green tweeted last June that production will be move forward on the film with Sarah Polley writing the Screenplay and also directing the movie.
Paper Towns has no director as of yet, but author John Green will serve as Executive Producer.
Paper Towns hits cinemas July 31, 2015.
