iPhone 6 vs Samsung S5 Latest News - But Shouldn't It Be: Apple's iPhone 6 vs the Galaxy Alpha?
When it comes to the competition in high-end smartphones, Apple's soon-to-launch iPhone 6 is expected to challenge Samsung's existing Galaxy S5.
In fact, tech site Versus has already prepared an objective comparison between the two models. There are 26 cited reasons why the Apple handset is more preferable than Samsung's. Among them, the iPhone 6 as compared with Galaxy S5 has built-in optical image stabilization, is a lot lighter and thinner, has substantially more storage, has a dedicated camera button, an IPS screen and a flash with dual-LED, has substantially bigger pixel size, more microphones and a smaller semiconductor size. It has AF tracking as well as a timelapse function. It has a more durable sapphire glass display than Samsung's Corning Gorilla Glass.
On the other hand there are 31 reasons cited by Versus why Samsung's Galaxy S5 is still a better deal than Apple's iPhone 6. Among them, the Galaxy S5 as compared with iPhone 6 has reasonably more battery power, explicitly faster CPU clock speed, higher pixel density, more RAM memory, a bigger screen size, explicitly higher resolution, better video recording quality and substantially more megapixel. It has an external memory slot, a branded damage-resistant glass, a removable battery, and a USB mass storage support. It also allows substantially faster downloads, wireless charging, and faster photo auto-focus due to a phase detection autofocus when shooting pictures. It can likewise be charged via standard USB cable, and it has an ultra power save mode. It is DLNA-certified and it supports ANT+. It also has a heart rate monitor.
Of course, consumers of high-end smartphones do not rely on just technical, objective criteria for their buying decisions. Making the competition interesting, Samsung will be matching Apple's soon-to-launch metallic iPhone 6 with its own soon-to-launch metallic Galaxy Alpha. By far the thinnest in the Galaxy series, the South Korean multinational electronics company says its metal frame is built using "sophisticated and compact construction techniques." Both iPhone 6 and Galaxy Alpha are expected to arrive in stores by September.
