Wes King’s Landmark Album "Common Creed" Celebrates 30th Anniversary

Reunion Records and acclaimed singer-songwriter Wes King proudly celebrate the 30th anniversary of King's seminal 1995 album, Common Creed. Originally released on July 30, 1995, the project remains a defining work in Contemporary Christian Music, blending heartfelt acoustic melodies with lyrics that continue to inspire listeners three decades later.
Produced by Phil Naish, Common Creed delivered several chart-topping singles, including the title track "Common Creed" and the beloved worship ballad "The Love of Christ" (co-written with Michael W. Smith and Michael Card). Other standout songs such as "Life Is Precious" and "Fisher of Men" climbed Christian radio charts, solidifying the album as a staple of 1990s CCM. The project went on to peak at #12 on Billboard's Top Christian Albums chart and earned a spot on the influential WOW 1996 compilation.
Reflecting on the album's impact, Wes King shared,
"Common Creed was born out of my desire to write songs that spoke to the heart of the Gospel - unity, love, and the beauty of life in Christ. To see these songs still touching lives 30 years later is deeply humbling."
To mark the anniversary, a special 30th Anniversary Edition of Common Creed will be released digitally and on vinyl for the first time. The reissue will include remastered tracks, acoustic demos, and exclusive live recordings from King's 1995 tour. Fans can also look forward to a limited podcast series where Wes King revisits the stories behind each song.
The celebration continues with a virtual live event on August 15, 2025, where Wes King will perform select tracks and share reflections on the album's enduring legacy.
Known for his poetic songwriting and signature acoustic sound, Wes King emerged in the early 1990s as one of Christian music's most respected voices. His catalog includes classics such as The Robe, A Room Full of Stories, and the Dove Award-winning single "The Love of Christ." Over three decades, King's music has touched countless hearts with messages of faith, grace, and hope.
