Android Vs iOs: For The First Time In History Android Usage is Ranked Higher Than That Of The iOS
Which is used more-Android or iOS? This is a question commonly asked. Today, we see Android being used more than iOS unlike before when iOS had taken the lead. According to Net Application who is providing this information, as of July, Android came 44.62% while iOS came at 44.19%. In case you are wondering, Windows Phone usage rose a bit to 2.49%. Though the difference is very small, it is quite significant in that Android is taking the first place for the first time in history.
There are various reasons why Android rose above iOS, but Apple stalling when it comes to hardware innovation as of late, could be the large reason. The sale of tablets and iPads has slowed down. And the iPhone's screen is now dwarfed by other handsets in terms of size and resolution. This could be a reason why an iPhone with a larger display makes a lot of sense.
We have heard of Google pushing a new software design for Android and hardware manufacturers as the platform has been creating a slew of devices with different focuses for years. The company is at the same time trying to wrangle these manufacturers to clean up their software experiences.
Worldwide, all those companies making Android phones sell a lot more units than Apple sells the iPhone. According to IDC, Samsung, which primarily deals with Android models, is the most sold. In the US however, it is said that Apple's shipment outpaced Samsung. You may be wondering, which of the two has more apps. But both seem to be similar, and impressive on both sides. Currently, both Apple and Google claim more than 800,000 third party programs to their respective platform. It is reported that just over half of all apps downloaded in the first quarter of this year were android. iOS, the second player has about 40% share for that. As per a report from NetMarketshare, the most used platform in the internet is iOS which took the large share, 60.1% while Android is way behind at 24.9%. Considering that Android devices are more, it's quite clear that iOS users are disproportionately active online.
