Exclusive Song Premiere: Carley Arrowood's "O The Blood"

Since the release of her debut collection, Goin' Home Comin' On, Mountain Home Music Company's Carley Arrowood has been gifted one husband, one baby daughter and one IBMA Momentum Vocalist of the Year award while releasing four acclaimed singles - "Deeper In Love," "Tsali's Run," "Chasin' Indigo" and "Moondancer" - that have made an undeniable case for her growing power as a mature, confident creative force.
Now, the closing argument arrives with the announcement that Colors, her second album, is available for pre-save/add ahead of its March 29th release date. One of the album's highlights is "O the Blood." You can now listen to the song exclusively HERE.
Arrowood reveals how she came to record this song. "I first learned this song in an Easter cantata at my old church, and later rediscovered it from Selah. It left me with goosebumps and in tears! We added it to our set list and the first time my husband, Daniel, my sister, Autumn, and I sang it in a church service, we were just awestruck and humbled again at the impact of the lyrics and the beauty of singing it together, knowing that the precious Blood has covered and washed us.
"It's still hard to sing because of the solemn message. The end in particular gets me every time, when you hear the declarative chords of Daniel's guitar ring out, 'What can wash away my sin?' It's a song teeming with the beautiful truth of being cleansed from sin only by the blood of Christ, and I pray its message clings to your soul with conviction and comfort like it did mine!"
Arrowood's distinctive approach continues through the remainder of the collection, contrasting the modern shape of songs like "Moondancer," the fiery instrumental, "Tsali's Run," and "This Mess We Made," written by Autumn Watson, with the more traditional flavors of numbers such as the tragic ballad, "Silas and Cora," which nods to bluegrass' classic cautionary tales, and the set's other fiddle tune, "Molasses Ridge." By the time Colors reaches its final track, "Always Back To You" - penned by award-winning songwriters Tim Stafford and Bobby Starnes - listeners will find themselves utterly convinced that the promise of her earlier work has been fulfilled with a bold new step forward.
"I am so thankful for this project," Carley Arrowood affirms, "and I sincerely hope listeners enjoy each tune and are moved by them the way that I am!"
