The Sharps Request for Prayers as Bassist Tony Lewis Undergoes Medical Testing
Southern Gospel quartet the Sharps are asking fans to pray for their bass singer Tony Lewis as he undergoes further comprehensive medical testing.
The team writes, "Friends, we are asking you to pray for Tony with us once more. This morning, he is undergoing more extensive testing. However, more answers are needed in this situation. Please continue to pray for Tony and his family. They are very appreciative of your prayers and support. Though worrying is only human nature, God has this under control! So we ask that you pray today on his behalf. Thank you!"
The Sharps, an Alabama quartet with 40 years of experience, deliver four-part harmony songs about Heaven while merging youth and experience.
The quartet's lead and baritone roles are performed by Andy and Ben Sharp, father and son. They are joined by Tony Lewis (bass), David Holt (tenor), and Jason Brown (sound engineer). To mention a few, the quartet has recently performed at the National Quartet Convention, Dollywood, Alabama Gospel Roots TV, PBS Television Network, The Gospel Greats, Gospel Music Today, Singing News, Atlanta Live, and Ascending Sounds TV. With their present popularity, the men hope to attract new audiences and fans who fall in love with their harmonies and personalities right away.
Today, Ben Sharp has taken over as manager and is guiding the group into the future. But don't be deceived by his youth. He has a smooth baritone voice that can stand out for a solo. Andy Sharp, is the only original member from 1984 that continues to travel and sing. Andy is well-known for his distinct vocals and passionate performance of each song. Tony Lewis anchors the sound with his smooth, clear, and powerful bass voice, which has become well-known among listeners over the years. David Holt, a tenor vocalist who has only been with the group for a less than a year, has quickly won praise for his powerful high tenor vocals and passion when singing.
