Jeff and Sheri Easter Look Back At Their Hit-Studded Career with "Yesterday: A Decade of Favorites"
Come August 19, 2014, fans of Jeff and Sheri Easter are in for a treat when they release "Yesterday: A Decade of Favorites." This disc released by Spring Hills Records gathers together 10 of the most requested hits from the past decade by the Southern Gospel duo. This collection of songs include "Hear My Heart," "I Know How It Feels to Survive" and their GMA DOVE Award-winning single "Born to Climb." Whether taking care of aging loved ones, watching their children grow or experiencing a battle with cancer, Jeff & Sheri's lives have been lived out in song. Their messages of hope and triumph combine with their unmistakable country style of Gospel music to create these hit selections that have been life-changing for both them and their audiences.
Jeff's father is one of the Easter Brothers and Sheri's mother is a member of The Lewis Family-they grew up surrounded by the sound of people praising God through their musical gifts. In August of 1984, both were at the Albert E. Brumley Sundown to Sunup Gospel Singing in Arkansas. Jeff, who was playing bass for the Singing Americans at the time, took the opportunity to reintroduce himself to Sheri's mother Polly; they had met on a previous occasion. Polly introduced Jeff to Sheri and the two were married ten months later.
They traveled and performed as part of The Lewis Family for several years. But in 1988 they decided it was time to strike out on their own, and they haven't looked back since. Together as Jeff and Sheri Easter, they perform over 100 concerts annually. They are one of the most recognized family groups on the Gaither Homecoming Video Series. They have also received 5 Dove Awards and 2 GRAMMY® nominations.
