Trailer for "50 Shades of Grey" Premieres Today and Has Fans Buzzing with Scenes of Jamie Dorman as Christian Grey and Dakota Johnson as Ana, and Features New Version of "Crazy in Love" By Beyonce
The trailer for the highly-anticipated film "Fifty Shades of Grey" dropped today, and everyone is buzzing about the movie, which is coming to theaters on Valentine's Day. The story is pretty well-known to most nowadays; the sexy trilogy surpassed the "Harry Potter" series and claimed the number one spot on the New York Time's Bestseller List and managed to sell over 100 million copies.
What is it exactly that got us so hooked? The trailer gives a pretty good indication. We get our first glimpse of Jamie Dorman as the smoldering Christian Grey, the handsome businessman who seduces innocent young Ana, played by Dakota Johnson. The trailer for the film acts as an excellent setup for those who may not be familiar with the story: Ana stumbles into Christian Grey's office to interview him, he takes a random and slightly obsessive interest in her, and proceeds to kiss her passionately in an elevator.
What is surprising about the trailer is how tame it is compared to the aggressive sexuality of the books. In the books, it is revealed fairly early on in Ana and Christian's relationship that Christian has some out-of-the-box sexual preferences. Namely, he is an avid partaker of BDSM, and even has what he calls the "Red Room of Pain."
The trailer merely hints at these dangerously erotic parts of the story, with a quick montage of what appears to be Ana's initiation into Christian's twisted sexual world at the very end of the trailer. Whether you claim yourself as a fan of the series or not, the trailer for "Fifty Shades of Grey" leaves its viewers curious to see even more.
