"Divergent" Star Shailene Woodley Rumored to be Dating Costar Theo James and Recently Out Ellen Page; Release Dates Revealed for "Insurgent" and "Allegiant" Starring Woodley and James
"Divergent," starring Shailene Woodley as Tris, has already established itself as one of the most popular and successful films of 2014. It brought in about $275 million worldwide at the box office, and fans have already begun to eagerly anticipate the next installment in the series, "Insurgent," which is set to hit theaters on March 20, 2015.
"Insurgent" is currently being filmed in Atlanta and Chicago. Meanwhile, filmmakers have plans to split the third book in the series, "Allegiant," into a two-part film adaptation. "Allegiant - Part 1" will be released in theaters on March 18, 2016, while Part 2 will premiere about a year later on March 24, 2017.
Meanwhile, rumors continue to swirl about a supposed romance between Shailene Woodley and costar and onscreen boyfriend, Theo James. However much fans of the series may wish for the onscreen chemistry to be a reflection of real life, James has been dating girlfriend Ruth Kearney for several years now. As for Woodley, she is reportedly involved with "Juno" actress Ellen Page, making her the first girlfriend for Page to have since she officially came out earlier in the year.
However, Woodley has neither confirmed nor denied these rumors to date.
Despite any rumors regarding her personal life, Shailene Woodley's career is on the rise. Following the success of "Divergent" came YA novel-turned-film "The Fault in Our Stars," in which she plays cancer-stricken Hazel Lancaster. Though Woodley is often mocked by the media for her herbalism, organic living, and sometimes questionable fashion choices, her popularity continues to grow among both teens and adults.
