'The Voice' NBC Season 7 Release Announced, New Coach Gwen Stefani Shares Advice She Got from Christina Aguilera (VIDEO)
"The Voice" Season 7 on NBC will feature their third different female judge/coach since the show began. Gwen Stefani, lead singer of No Doubt and of solo hits such as "Hollaback Girl", will fill the red chair this season taking over from original female judge Christina Aguilera and two season veteran Shakira.
Gwen recently opened up with Liz Hernandez from Access Hollywood about the advice she got from Christina Aguilera and meeting Shakira.
"Shakira I didn't really get to talk to," Gwen shared. "I met her when I got to do 'Hollaback Girl' with Pharrell [on the show] that time, and it was just a second. I got to see her baby and oh my God, the baby is so beautiful!"
She did get encouragement from Christina and the two moms even got to share a birthday party playdate together.
"With Christina, she wrote me this really sweet note like right when it was all going down," Gwen said. "Then she ended up coming over for Kingston's birthday party and brought over Max. It was just like, 'Yeah!' She was all girl power.
"[She said,] 'You gotta be like this and you gotta do that,' and she was like, 'You're gonna love it! You are gonna be fine, you're gonna be fine,'" she said, trying to sound like Aguilera. "She was really sweet to me."
Will No Doubt perform on the show in Season 7? "That would be amazing," she said. "That would be really cool because I think that it's a whole other part of who I am and being in that band for since [I'm] a teenager, it would be really great to have them come on the show."
"The Voice" has been able to keep up the success of the show through judging changes over the years with Shakira filling in two seasons for Christina Aguilera and Usher filling in for Ceelo. The judges chemistry is a big part of the success of the NBC reality show.
Many fans think this might be the most dynamic foursome of coaches on the show yet personality wise. "The Voice" has always had great chemistry between the coaches and we doubt Gwen and Pharrell will lack any whit or fire-power to be able to hang with the good hearted trash talking that always seems to take place between Adam and Blake.
You can tune in to all of the action when Season 7 of "The Voice" premieres on NBC on September 22, 2014.
